Congratulations to Mr Robinson on his third publication! Available on Amazon – The Ultimate Chelsea FC Quiz Book.
We have vacancies on our friendly Governing Board for a Parent Governor and a Co-opted Governor.
Volunteering as a governor allows you to gain a variety of new skills, and develop the ones you already have. It doesn’t matter if you don’t think your career experience – or lack of – is relevant to education; governing bodies need people from all backgrounds and free training is provided.
A Parent Governor is a representative for our parents and is elected by parents. It is a unique opportunity to get involved in school life and any parent with a child in the school can be nominated, even if they have only just started.
A Co-Opted Governor is someone who does not necessarily have a connection to the school but has work related skills, perhaps in finance, IT or other areas, and would like to make a difference by contributing to the effective governance and success of the school. A Co-opted Governor is appointed by the Governing Body.
If you would like more information on becoming a governor, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Nominations must be received by Wednesday 14 October 2020.
We look forward to hearing from you.
The School Health Team has sent a Powerpoint presentation which you may wish to show your child before they have their immunisation. It is on the school website – Flu Immunisations.
We would very much like to continue to support this appeal and we are hoping to hold our usual Remembrance Service in the playground for the school community only.
We won’t be able to sell poppies in the school this year due to the pandemic but the children will be making their own in school.
If you would like to make a donation please do so online via The Poppy Shop website for the British Legion. Donate to the Poppy Appeal
Here is a link to a colouring page you may wish to download for your child to colour in and display in a window at home. Poppy Colouring Page
Additional Support for Children
We have reviewed our systems in place for children who need additional support. If your child has been identified as needing extra support, they are required to have specific targets which are then reviewed three times a year. If your child has been identified as requiring additional support you will receive this through the post next week. If you have any questions relating to this, please call the school office and I will be happy to discuss things further. Thank you.

The path at the top of the field is becoming very congested at drop off time as parents are congregating in that area. Please keep moving to avoid the path becoming blocked.
If your child is sent home in spare clothes from school, please remember to return them as we are running out of spares!
Tracy Robinson, Headteacher
Friends of Motcombe
I hope you have all been delighted to receive your children’s fabulous Christmas artwork that they have created in school this week. To place an order online please use the unique codes on the form to do this as soon as possible. The forms and artwork must be returned to us for Cauliflower Cards to be able produce your order. These will be delivered back to school early in December.
If you haven’t managed to get your form back to school today, please post it in to The Friends red post box next to the school office as soon as possible next week.
We hope you’ll be able to support the school and your children by purchasing some of these lovely products. Every penny earned for the Friends will go directly to the school.
