The new system for coming to school in the mornings is working really well so thank you to everyone.
A reminder that learning starts at their staggered time but if you do arrive early your child can go straight in to class rather than waiting outside.
Whole school attendance to date is 97.51%
Congratulations to Monarch class with the highest attendance this week at 99.35%.
Congratulations to Apollo and Saturn who were awarded the trophy this week!
And a special congratulations to Tortoiseshell who are the first class to have run a mile during their Daily Run session! This is 10 laps round the playground!
The Prince Albert in Eastbourne is organising a collection for food hampers for the elderly who will be alone this Christmas. The children will be making Christmas cards to go in these hampers and if you are able to donate a little something special, eg. a jar of chutney, a box of chocolates, special biscuits, that could go in a hamper, there will be a box at each gate in the mornings.
Unicef – Advent Calendars
Each class will have a Unicef advent calendar for December. The children will see a £1.00 gift being revealed every day for children around the world. These will include blankets, vaccines, mosquito nets, medication, pencils for school. If you would like to donate, please send £1.00 in with your child to put in the collection pot in class.
Dress as an Elf Day – Rockinghorse Charity
Friday 11 December is Christmas Jumper Day! This year we would like to support the Rockinghorse Charity and their campaign is Dress as an Elf!
At Rockinghorse children’s charity, our aim is to improve the lives of sick children throughout Sussex. We are best-known as the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (the Alex) in Brighton.
We fundraise to provide life-saving and cutting-edge medical equipment, additional services and items to ensure that young people are treated in an environment better suited to their needs.
We believe no matter where they are, children should always be allowed to be children. Our charity doesn’t receive any government funding and relies on the generous support of individuals, community groups, schools, companies and trusts; people like you.
The children may come to school dressed as an elf or in a Christmas jumper and make a contribution to the charity. Please see more information about their fundraising projects on their website https://www.rockinghorse.org.uk/about-us/.
Please also make a donation online if you wish to – https://www.rockinghorse.org.uk/donate-to-us/.
