Newsletter 020 – Friday 12 February 2021

Thank you for keeping in touch and helping your children with their learning during this term.  This week there has been over 1100 pieces of work uploaded!

If you are having trouble with internet access, please let us know as we may be able to assist if you are near a BT hotspot.  Please follow this link to check if you are in one of those areas – https://www.btwifi.com/find/.

We are hoping that it won’t be much longer now until school opens again and things can start to return to some kind of normality.

As mentioned last week, school is closed for half term and there will be no home learning.

School will re-open for keyworker children on Monday 22 February.

From next term, for the keyworker children attending school, Peacock and Purple Emperor children are going to be in Purple Emperor classroom and Holly Blue and White Admiral children are going to be in Holly Blue classroom.  Please drop your child to this classroom every morning and collect them from there in the afternoon.

The FS children had a lovely Spa Day today!  They had a nail bar, a foot spa, they were treating each other to hand massages and they even had a Cuddle Room with soft toys!

They also enjoyed trying some Chinese food for Chinese New Year!

New FREE Virtual Family Learning courses running in March 2021

Today you have been emailed information for several virtual courses that the Early Help Service is running throughout March.  These include Fun with Numeracy, Fun with Phonics, Money Matters and First Aid.  Details of how to enrol on these are on the attachments.

Here is some further information received regarding the local roadworks:

“I am writing to provide you with an update regarding our replacement project in Victoria Drive, Eastbourne. Our engineers continue to upgrade our network in Victoria Drive between Milton Road and Northiam Road. For everyone’s safety, Milton Road remains closed at the junction with Victoria Drive and we have temporary traffic lights installed around our work area.

We expect to move onto phase two, working on Victoria Drive from Northiam Road towards Broomfield Street, on Monday 1 March. During this time, it will be necessary to close Northiam Road at the junction with Victoria Drive. A signed diversion will be in place via Birling Street and Green Street. We’ll also install temporary multi-way lights around our work area. These lights will be manually controlled 7am – 7pm Monday to Friday, to assist with traffic flow.

In consultation with East Sussex County Council, we will also be working in Summerdown Road from Monday 15 February for approximately 8 weeks. This will allow us to carry out two essential projects during the national lockdown, minimising disruption to the local community.

Our engineers will be working in Summerdown Road from A259 East Dean Road and progressing south to the junction with Vicarage Drive. We’ll maintain traffic in both directions via give and take.

We would like to thank residents, businesses and road users for their continued patience and understanding while we carry out this essential work.”
